Hospice is a special way of caring for people with life-limiting illnesses. Rather than a place, hospice is a concept of care. Dee'z Helping Handz provides services wherever the patient resides; in the comfort of their home, personal care home, assisted living facility, nursing home of an inpatient unit if they meet criteria.
We put emphasis on helping our clients and their families by making the most of each day by bringing comfort and relief of symptoms including pain.
Hospice care focuses on enhancing a patient's comfort and overall quality of life.
To be eligible for hospice services, patients must agree that they wish to receive comfort care rather than curative care. Their Physician must determine that the patient has an estimated life expectancy of 6 month or less to live if the illness runs it's normal course. Should the patient still be here after 6 months, they get re-evaluated, as long as the patient still meets criteria for Hospice they can continue on Hospice.
Hospice is dedicated to help all people with end-stage illnesses such as Dementia, Pulmonary Disease, Cardiac Disease, Stroke, HIV, Liver Disease, Kidney Disease, Cancer, Multi-Symptom Failure and more.
Medicare is the main source of funding for hospice care in the United States. Hospice patients are covered by Medicare Hospice Benefit. Other funding sources include:
~Medicaid
~Manage Care
